Privacy
Short version: this site doesn't track you. There are no accounts, no forms, no ads and no analytics. Two outside services can come into play, and only when you choose to use them.
What this site collects
Nothing about you directly. The Reading Octagon is a static website: pages are plain files with no login, no comments and no newsletter. No analytics or tracking scripts are used at the moment. If that changes, this page will be updated first.
Like any website, the hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard technical data such as your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect against abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Search runs entirely in your browser; what you type is not sent anywhere.
Amazon affiliate links
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon buttons and links (including "Audiobook" and "Try Audible free" links, which go to Amazon/Audible) are affiliate links that carry a tracking tag. Nothing is set by this site, but when you click one, Amazon may set cookies in your browser to attribute any purchase, under Amazon's privacy notice. This site only ever sees aggregate sales reports from Amazon, never who you are or what you bought.
YouTube videos
Episode pages show a still image instead of a live video player. The thumbnail image comes from YouTube's image server (i.ytimg.com), but no YouTube player, script or cookie loads until you click play. Then the video loads from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and Google's privacy policy applies. "Watch this moment" links open YouTube itself.

Book covers are served from this site. Source links (transcripts, episode pages, book databases) go to other websites with their own policies.
